“Gala di meritU”
The 40 Under 40 “Gala di Merito” event will honor Cabo Verdean individuals under the age of 40, who were either born in Boston, or are current Boston residents, who also have been making an impact across the United States, Cabo Verde, and the world. Our intention is to highlight the many Cabo Verdeans whose time, dedication, and contributions have left an impact on society. Over time the Cabo Verdean diaspora has produced many leaders and luminary figures-- from the days of poets such as Eugenio Tavares, revolutionaries such as Amilcar Cabral, and beloved singers such as Cesaria Evora. In contemporary times, we continue to see leadership and social impact by Cabo Verdeans across the global diaspora, including in the greater Boston region.
Our Commitment
The Cape Verdean Association of Boston (CVAB) is fully committed to its mission of promoting the power and potential of the Cabo Verdean community. We also know that the Cabo Verdean community, for many years, has been a consistent force making positive contributions in all aspects of society, such as education, social services, business, sports, community activism, and so much more. We believe it is critical to recognize those who continue to make an impact each day—both past and present.
